Kawhaka Lodge is situated 10km inland from the mighty Tasman Sea on the West Coast of the South Island. It is centrally located being roughly half way between the ocean and the towering Southern Alps. The closest towns are Hokitika (15 minutes drive) and Greymouth (30 minutes drive) The lodge is easily accessible by road and transport to and from the airports in Hokitika and Greymouth is provided. We can also fly you by helicopter from any local airports including Christchurch. For details and quotes on helicopter transfer please contact us.

Getting to Kawhaka Lodge:

By Road: Turn onto the Old Christchurch Road from State Highway 6 at the Arahura River Bridge, approximately 10 minutes drive north from Hokitika. Kawhaka Lodge is a beautiful 10km drive through established farmlands and scenic native rainforest.

By Air: Kawhaka Lodge has it's own heli-pad on the lawn. If you would prefer to fly direct to the lodge then please contact us for directions and landing details. Helicopter charter services can be arranged from the Lodge when required.
